From The Index Of Forbidden Kooks: Doug Kmiec

Published by Dim Bulb at 8:22 pm under The index of forbidden kooks

From a website run by Matthew 25 which supports the Obamacide of infants comes this quote by Kmiec:  Can you be pro-life and support Senator Obama?  The answer-upon even a moment’s reflection-is’unequivocally yes.’”

Sorry Dougie, I took more than a “moment’s reflection” to consider that question.  I don’t like slick politicians-or those who pimp for them-trying to give my intellect the bum’s rush.

Here’s a quote I do enjoy!  It comes from Bishop Martino of Scranton, and is excerpted from a statement that is to be read at all Masses this weekend in his diocese:

“Another argument goes like this: “As wrong as abortion is, I don’t think it is the only relevant ‘life’ issue that should be considered when deciding for whom to vote.” This reasoning is sound only if other issues carry the same moral weight as abortion does, such as in the case of euthanasia and destruction of embryos for research purposes. Health care, education, economic security, immigration, and taxes are very important concerns. Neglect of any one of them has dire consequences as the recent financial crisis demonstrates. However, the solutions to problems in these areas do not usually involve a rejection of the sanctity of human life in the way that abortion does. Being “right” on taxes, education, health care, immigration, and the economy fails to make up for the error of disregarding the value of a human life. Consider this: the finest health and education systems, the fairest immigration laws, and the soundest economy do nothing for the child who never sees the light of day. It is a tragic irony that “pro-choice” candidates have come to support homicide – the gravest injustice a society can tolerate – in the name of “social justice.”

H/T To INSIDE CATHOLIC for the quote.

Check out AMERICAN PAPIST for his thoughts.

Matthew 25 is a despicable organization.  The name this allegedly Christian group chose for itself is a reference to the chapter on the final judgment.

25:31 “But when the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then he will sit on the throne of his glory. cj(25,32); 25:32 Before him all the nations will be gathered, and he will separate them one from another, as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. cj(25,33); 25:33 He will set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left. cj(25,34); 25:34 Then the King will tell those on his right hand, ‘Come, blessed of my Father, inherit the Kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world; cj(25,35); 25:35 for I was hungry, and you gave me food to eat. I was thirsty, and you gave me drink. I was a stranger, and you took me in. cj(25,36); 25:36 I was naked, and you clothed me. I was sick, and you visited me. I was in prison, and you came to me.’

cj(25,37); 25:37 “Then the righteous will answer him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry, and feed you; or thirsty, and give you a drink? cj(25,38); 25:38 When did we see you as a stranger, and take you in; or naked, and clothe you? cj(25,39); 25:39 When did we see you sick, or in prison, and come to you?’

cj(25,40); 25:40 “The King will answer them, ‘Most certainly I tell you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.’ cj(25,41); 25:41 Then he will say also to those on the left hand, ‘Depart from me, you cursed, into the eternal fire which is prepared for the devil and his angels; cj(25,42); 25:42 for I was hungry, and you didn’t give me food to eat; I was thirsty, and you gave me no drink; cj(25,43); 25:43 I was a stranger, and you didn’t take me in; naked, and you didn’t clothe me; sick, and in prison, and you didn’t visit me.’

cj(25,44); 25:44 “Then they will also answer, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry, or thirsty, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and didn’t help you?’

cj(25,45); 25:45 “Then he will answer them, saying, ‘Most certainly I tell you, inasmuch as you didn’t do it to one of the least of these, you didn’t do it to me.’ cj(25,46); 25:46 These will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.”

Apparently, we are to consider this the Summa of all virtues and vices; irrespective of how they might be interpreted.  Because our Blessed Lord didn’t say: “I was a pregnant mother with limited finances and you paid for my abortion, enter, therefore, you blessed, into the Kingdom of my Father,” we can pigeon-hole it into one of the favorable categories.

Of course, those who pimp the Gospel of the Monetary Value of Life overlook the Sermon on the Mount:

6:24 “No one can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other; or else he will be devoted to one and despise the other. You can’t serve both God and Mammon. cj(6,25); 6:25 Therefore I tell you, don’t be anxious for your life: what you will eat, or what you will drink; nor yet for your body, what you will wear. Isn’t life more than food, and the body more than clothing? cj(6,26); 6:26 See the birds of the sky, that they don’t sow, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns. Your heavenly Father feeds them. Aren’t you of much more value than they?

cj(6,27); 6:27 “Which of you, by being anxious, can add one moment to his lifespan? cj(6,28); 6:28 Why are you anxious about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow. They don’t toil, neither do they spin, cj(6,29); 6:29 yet I tell you that even Solomon in all his glory was not dressed like one of these. cj(6,30); 6:30 But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today exists, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, won’t he much more clothe you, you of little faith?

cj(6,31); 6:31 “Therefore don’t be anxious, saying, ‘What will we eat?’, ‘What will we drink?’ or, ‘With what will we be clothed?’ cj(6,32); 6:32 For the Gentiles seek after all these things; for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. cj(6,33); 6:33 But seek first God’s Kingdom, and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well. cj(6,34); 6:34 Therefore don’t be anxious for tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Each day’s own evil is sufficient.

Jimmy, sorry, I deleted your comment. Although it was a bit rambling I think I remember the gist of it.

    1) Don’t assume you know my views on the war.

    2) Don’t assume I’m Republican. I’m not, and if you knew anything about me you’d know why.

    2) Even if I were the most fanatical supporter of the war you cannot draw a moral equivalent between abortion and the Vatican’s position that the war in Iraq is unjust. In Catholic teaching the former is always gravely sinful, while the Vatican was clear that it remains a prudential decision among Catholic’s concerning the morally licit or illicit nature of the war. My view on the Iraq war have developed over time, and I am of the opinion that it is not unjustified.

    3) I can see no better way to reduce abortions than by making them criminal; it is, after all, an act forbidden by the fifth commandment.

    4) as for your rambling accusations about rich, white, Republican, heterosexual males and their motivations for opposing abortion-I found them just plain silly.
